Created *in situ* at the Mont Faron Memorial (Toulon), MONUMENT.1 is a choreographic work that invites the audience to experience a site of memory in a new way. Led by choreographer Caroline Brotons—with live accompaniment by Benoît Bottex, whose sound design blends electronic music with the clarinet—the piece is part of an ongoing, long-term research project titled MONUMENT.: a series of contemporary rituals that explore what it means to “commemorate” today.
